DuraGuard
Our 'DuraGuard' bag provides superior product protection by
using a 2-part assembly. Initially developed for leather and microfiber covered
products, our 2-ply 'DuraGuard' bag consists of a very durable nonwoven
material on the outside combined with a high-slip loose film liner on the
inside. The loose film liner makes all the difference in the world. With a
loose film liner, the rubbing that may occur in shipping takes place between
the nonwoven material and the high-slip liner not between the bag material and
the product, minimizing any damage to brightwoods, leather, and microfiber
fabrics. An outer shipping film is optional. Instead of using one product for
leather and another product for fabric, by using 'DuraGuard' you can use
one product for all your packaging needs. Our 'DuraGuard' bag will also
provide extra protection just by the fact that it is a bag and not just a flat
piece of material. Our bag will stay in position on the furniture as it moves
through your packaging line and shipping; therefore, better protection for your
furniture.
 SuperGuard
Our 3-ply 'SuperGuard' bag
consists of two loose layers of very durable nonwoven material on the outside
combined with a high-slip loose film liner on the inside. You get all the
benefits of 'DuraGuard' along with a thicker outer layer. The two loose
layers of drape provide an additional location for any rubbing to occur within
the bag not between the bag material and the product.

Product Specifications The outer layers of our
'DuraGuard' and 'SuperGuard' products are a spunbond
polypropylene, polyethylene, and/or polyester blend fabric. This fabric is
extremely durable and puncture resistant. Our inner slip-liner is a high slip
polyethylene film attached to our drape only along the edges and at the end
seams. Attaching it only at the edges enables the inner liner to move freely of
the drape bag so it acts as a true slip-liner. The inner liner also makes the
package dust and water resistant. Our 'DuraGuard' and
'SuperGuard' products can be used with 'Bags on Demand' or
'Bags on a Roll'.
Testing
In 2006, we had extensive
testing performed on our 'DuraGuard' bag by an independent lab. Since
there is no test for upholstered furniture, we used the 'Rule 181' test
protocol developed by the American Home Furnishings Alliance and the National
Motor Freight Traffic Association. The test was comparable to 1000 highway
miles in a trailer with no air-ride and required 20 minutes of vibration on the
base, back and end. We tested our 'DuraGuard' bag against a tri-ply
bubble bag, a grey needlepuch bag, and an un-lined spunbond drape bag. The test
results revealed no damage to the furniture with our 'DuraGuard' bag.
The try-ply bubble bag broke through in spots; the grey needlepunch bag showed
some rubbing against the leather; and the un-lined drape bag showed significant
rubbing against the leather.

Bags
on Demand

 |
Our 'Bags on
Demand' system is a good solution if you have centralized packing and can
include 'AutoMeasure', 'AutoSeparate', and our sealer at no
additional cost. There is a 800 bags per day minimum for our 'Bags on
Demand' sealer including the 'AutoMeasure' and
'AutoSeparate'. This system can save you approximately 5%-8% on your
packaging materials alone by making a custom bag (not pre-set sizes) for each
piece of furniture saving inches per bag. 'Bags on Demand' cuts down on
waste and omits the need to inventory a variety of bag sizes; both of these
features will also lower your cost. The operator can manually order a queue of
pre-set bags for the sealer to make or 'AutoMeasure' can measure your
furniture and produce the bags automatically. 'AutoSeparate' helps
insure that only one piece of furniture goes through 'AutoMeasure' at a
time. Some benefits of using 'Bags on Demand' include ease of inventory;
minimize inventory or investment; and cost saving of raw materials. |

Bags on a Roll

Our 'Bags on a Roll' system is a
good solution if you do not have centralized packing. This is a more low-tech
solution. You can order a 1000' roll of any bag length you need. The length of
bag would determine how many bags/roll there would be. The bags are perforated
so the wrapper simply tears a bag off the roll as needed. These rolls can be
used with a typical A-frame rack, 24-roll rack, or with a turntable. Some
benefits of using 'Bags on a Roll' include very simple employee duties;
no mechanical issues at all; and fast access to a finished bag.
Drape size
The size of
the outer drape depends on your packaging process. Of course, more drape
equates to more cost. If you use a tray, inner pack, and outer film bag then
our 72" wide drape attached to the film off-center is sufficient. Here the
drape covers from the tray over the top of the furniture and ends on the
backside of the piece. Usually a chair or sofa is undercut on the backside and
with the outer shrink bag going around the tray there is no opportunity for
rubbing on the backside. Our 92" wide drape covers from the front tray, over
the back and to about 12" short from the rear side of the tray. Again, the
undercut of the back of the furniture will not allow damage on the back. The
remaining window on the back gives you an opportunity to verify fabrics. This
is recommended with an outer film bag around the tray. Our 103" wide drape
covers from tray to tray and is recommended with an outer film bag around the
tray. Our 120" wide drape bag reaches around to the bottom of the furniture
along the front and rear leaving a 12" opening along the bottom of the
furniture. This is recommended with an outer film bag around the tray.
Our goal
Product
protection and low packaging cost are our main goals and our products
'DuraGuard' and 'SuperGuard' used with 'Bags on Demand' or
'Bags on a Roll' will provide superior product protection using our two
and three-ply bags. Both products provide a strong puncture resistant drape bag
with a loose high-slip liner to minimize any rubbing against your finished
product. Maintaining the production and effectiveness of your assembly line is
a high priority to us. We provide training and service to keep your line up and
moving.
